Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal information Alexander Wall (ABN 22 767 904 430), trading as Retail Buying School, collects and how we use it. We aim to comply with the Australian Privacy Principles and, where they apply, the EU and UK GDPR.

What we collect

• Your email address, to sign you in and send course emails.
• The name you enter for your certificate, which appears on the certificate and its verification page.
• Your course progress: exercises completed, quiz answers, case decisions, simulator results and your growth plan.
• Payment details: Stripe processes your payment and billing address. We receive the amount, date and a receipt link, but never your full card details.
• Basic technical data such as your IP address, used briefly to protect sign-in and checkout from abuse.

How we use it

• To provide the course, save your progress across devices, and issue and verify your certificate.
• To send emails you need: sign-in links, your receipt, and your certificate.
• To send an occasional reminder if you haven't visited in a while. Every reminder has a one-click unsubscribe link.
• To keep the service secure and prevent fraud.

We don't sell your information or use it for advertising.

Certificate verification pages

Each certificate has a public page showing your name, the course, the issue date and whether it's valid, so that people you share it with can check it. These pages ask search engines not to index them.

Cookies and analytics

We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in. Our sign-in and checkout forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to block bots. We measure visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn't use cookies or track you across sites.

Who we share it with

We use these service providers, who process information on our behalf:

• Cloudflare (hosting, database, file storage, security)
• Stripe (payments)
• Postmark (email delivery)

They may store information outside Australia, including in the United States and the EU. We choose providers that protect information to a standard comparable with Australian and EU law.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and progress for as long as you have access to the course, so that you can return to it. We keep purchase records for as long as tax and accounting law requires. Certificates stay verifiable unless you ask us to remove them.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, or ask us to stop reminder emails, by writing to support@retailbuyingschool.com. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information you can complain to us, and then to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner or your local data protection authority.
